The Division of Accounting is seeking a proactive team player who can apply critical thinking and problem solving in order to assist with filing federal, state and local taxes. This individual will also be responsible for reconciling the State of Missouri HR system and State of Missouri Financial System.

The salary indicated represents a base pay rate. If the individual selected or the position is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., shift, security, or years of service), it will be added to the total compensation in your paycheck. A pay differential does not raise your base pay.

Responsibilities - What you’ll do

• Review and approval of transfer vouchers for fringes on payroll
• Review retirement corrections and upload in SAM II
• Review Direct Deposit returns from pre-note process for EFT
• Monthly and Yearly review of ACA
• Retroactive review
• Review external adjustments processed in SAM II
• Pay Cycle Balancing
• Table Maintenance instead of SAM II

Qualifications - All you need for success Minimum Qualifications:

• Advanced knowledge of State Statutes, Code of State Regulations, Statewide and OA Policies relating to payroll.
• Advanced knowledge of SAM II HR, SAM II Financial and the Data Warehouse.
• Ability to create reports and spreadsheets in Microsoft Access and Excel.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within the unit and with other OA divisions.
• Advanced knowledge of accounting principles and practices and ability to apply them to varied accounting transactions.
• Ability to perform detailed work using statistical and financial data.
• Two or more years of experience as a Senior Accounts Assistant with the Missouri Uniform Classification and Pay System: and possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency

OR

• A Bachelor's degree form an accredited college or university with a minimum of 15 earned credit hours in Accounting; and, two or more years of professional business or governmental accounting experience including the processing of financial data which requires the interpretation and application of established accounting procedures.
