The Franchise Tax Board's (FTB) Enterprise Applications Analysis Services Section is seeking a new Data Governance Analyst to join our team!

About the Job
We're looking for a Data Governance Analyst who will make a difference in our team as together we solve enterprise problems with meaningful solutions! In this role you will act as project leader and would be responsible for performing independently on complex information technology (IT) systems, problems and analysis activities. The analyst will ensure the Enterprise Data to Revenue (EDR) system is aligned and compliant with Data Governance policies, Enterprise Data Advisory Team (EDAT) standards and data management practices to acquire, administer and consume data which will maximize the value of enterprise assets. The analyst must have the ability to identify, analyze, and evaluate data; think logically and creatively to develop plans; solve problems; make recommendations; and support business functions. They can develop and maintain complex test scenarios, test scripts, test data, and validate test results to expected outcomes. The analyst serves as a technical expert on departmental teams and completes studies and reports for existing programs used by the business.

In this role, you will:
  • Perform data analysis and reporting to support decision-making and problem-solving across different departments andfunctions
  • Be responsible for executing the day-to-day data governance activities
  • Key responsibilities include creating datastandards, managing metadata and data lineage, and fostering a culture of data stewardship to ensure data istrustworthy
  • Create and update system specifications, change requirements, and other documentation following various SystemsDevelopment Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies
  • Be responsible for testing and ensuring system quality by designing, creating, and executing test cases/scripts.Identify, log, verify bugs/defects, and perform functional, regression, and system testing to ensure system meet definedstandards before release
  • Provide production technical support and coordination for data integration services and programs within FTB
  • ldentify trends, patterns, and anomalies in data and make recommendations based on your findings
  • Communicate and present your analysis results to various levels of stakeholders in both written and verbal form
  • Attend and/or facilitate meetings with business and technical partners
  • Provide training and instruction to co-workers and new hires
