Lead California's Adult Education Future – Education Administrator IJoin the California Department of Education (CDE) and transform lives across the state! As Education Administrator I and State Director for the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Title II: Adult Education and Family Literacy Act (AEFLA), you'll lead our Adult Education Office in the Career and College Transition Division, directing a dynamic team of 20 professionals.

Under the direction of the Director of the Career and College Transition Division, you'll provide executive leadership and managerial oversight for innovative programs funded by the AEFLA and the California Adult Education Program (CAEP). You'll oversee comprehensive programmatic and fiscal administration of state and federal funds while coordinating resources across program offices throughout the CDE.
As California's voice in national forums and interstate collaborations, you'll ensure alignment with federal policy while connecting adult education programs to the state's anchor industries and workforce needs. You'll use your expertise to develop policies that boost adult learner success, deliver technical assistance, and foster partnerships that create real-world opportunities.

TELEWORK OPTION

This position is headquartered in Sacramento and may be eligible for a hybrid telework schedule for eligible applicants residing in California. A hybrid telework schedule includes working remotely and working a minimum of 2 days per week in the office.

Strong analytical and policy development skills.
Collaboration and multiple priority management skills.
California workforce system knowledge desirable.
