Golden Triangle Construction (“GTC”) has an opening in our Frederick, CO office for a Proposal Writer within our Marketing Department. GTC is a full-service, commercial general contractor that has successfully completed a wide variety of projects in Colorado for 49 years. Position Summary:

Golden Triangle Construction is seeking an experienced Construction Proposal Writer to manage and implement the development of high-quality, compelling proposals that support our business development and pursuit efforts. This role is responsible for the full proposal lifecycle from opportunity intake through final submission while ensuring accuracy, compliance, brand consistency, and strategic alignment with GTC’s values and goals with direction and oversight from the Marketing Director.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and collaborative, with a strong understanding of construction delivery methods and public-sector procurement processes. This position will report to the Marketing Director and will be asked to coordinate efforts with the Marketing Coordinator. This position will not have other employees to manage or oversee.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES:

  • Proposal Management & Strategy
    • Manage the end-to-end proposal process for RFQs, RFPs, SOQs, and design-build pursuits.
    • Partner with Business Development, Operations, and Executive Leadership to shape win strategies and messaging.
    • Ensure all proposals are compliant with owner requirements and submission instructions.
    • Attend pre-proposal and pre-submittal meetings off site
  • Content Development & Coordination
    • Write, edit, and refine proposal narratives, resumes, project descriptions, and approach statements.
    • Coordinate input from project managers, estimators, superintendents, and trade partners.
    • Maintain consistency in tone, branding, and messaging across all proposal materials.
    • Customize content to reflect client priorities, project goals, and differentiators.
  • Design, Production & Submittals
    • Oversee proposal layout, graphics, and visual quality (in coordination with internal or external design resources).
    • Manage final production, printing, and electronic submissions.
    • Conduct quality control reviews to ensure accuracy, completeness, and professionalism with Executives before submission
  • Process Improvement & Knowledge Management
    • Maintain proposal templates, boilerplate content, resumes, and project databases with assistance from the Marketing Coordinator.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3–7+ years of experience managing proposals in the construction, architecture, engineering, or related industry.
  • Strong understanding of construction delivery methods (CM/GC, Design-Build, Hard Bid, etc.).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines and pursuits simultaneously.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Canva, Adobe InDesign, Unanet CRM
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, collaborative construction environment.
  • Must be located in Colorado
  • Must be highly motivated, organized and detail-oriented and able to work under tight deadlines.
  • Must be able to provide critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Must demonstrate a desire to continually improve skill sets.
  • Must possess strong grammar, proofreading and writing skills.
  • Must be able to write and edit marketing materials with the ability to interpret technical information and adapt it to a non-technical audience with a client-oriented, benefits focus.
  • There may be times that will require working overtime to meet deadlines, sometimes on short notice.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.



COMPENSATION:


$75,000 – $100,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications
