South San Diego:
Mission Valley, Downtown San Diego, Hillcrest, North Park, South Park, Mission Hills, Point Loma, Pacific Beach, Ocean Beach, University Heights
Assignments include weddings, corporate events, private parties, concerts, catering events, universities, hotels, and hospitality venues throughout the region.

We partner with caterers, corporate dining programs, event venues, universities, hotels, and private clients to provide professional hospitality staff. Due to continued growth in the San Diego market, we are expanding our event service team and seeking dependable, experienced event servers interested in flexible hospitality opportunities.
Position Summary
The Event Server supports hospitality service across a variety of event types including weddings, private parties, corporate functions, and large-scale events. This flexible, on-call position is ideal for hospitality professionals comfortable working in dynamic event environments, delivering polished guest service, and adapting to different service styles. Assignments vary based on client demand.
Typical Shifts
Most assignments occur evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events. Some daytime corporate events and university functions may also be available. Flexibility is essential.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide professional food and beverage service at events
• Follow event-specific service instructions including passed appetizers, buffet service, plated service, or reception-style service
• Assist with event setup, service execution, and breakdown
• Maintain clean, organized service areas throughout events
• Communicate effectively with captains, chefs, event managers, and team members
• Deliver polished guest service while representing The Party Staff professionally
• Follow uniform standards, safety procedures, and company policies
Qualifications
• Prior event serving, banquet serving, catering, or hospitality service experience preferred
• Strong guest service skills and professional demeanor
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Reliable transportation to assignments throughout San Diego County
• Professional service attire required (typically black bistro uniform, non-slip shoes)
• Ability to work legally in the United States
Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (6 to 10 hours)
• Ability to lift and carry service items or trays up to approximately 25 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
• Ability to bend, reach, and move efficiently in busy event environments
Work Environment
• Weddings, private events, corporate functions, catering venues, hotels, universities, and event spaces
• Fast-paced hospitality environments with structured service timelines
• Flexible on-call scheduling through mobile staff portal
Compensation
Hourly pay range: $19.00 to $20.00 per hour depending on experience, client assignment, and event type
