As a Sr. Electrical Engineer in our Orlando, FL office you will be joining a team that provides a range of skills as part of an integrated building services design. Our diverse range of skills include power system planning, power distribution, lighting design, fire and life safety systems, low and medium voltage distribution systems, and construction coordination. 

While working in this role you’ll be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously including design and perform calculations for lighting systems and associated controls, prepare load analysis for different stages of design, prepare drawings detailing the system designed, prepare basis of design report for the project, prepare and document Energy compliance calculations and forms, select equipment and fixtures for use in the building and coordinate work with engineers of other disciplines and architects. With our team of Electrical Engineers and Designers you’ll utilize your exceptional design and analysis skills, to plan and design electrical systems for buildings and facilities, including industrial, commercial, hospitality, grocery and retail. 

What you'll do

  • Design full low and medium voltage electrical systems, including power, lighting, fire alarm and signaling systems 
  • Design lighting systems including associated control systems 
  • Prepare load analysis for each stage of design 
  • Direct a design team in preparation of detailed project electrical systems drawings 
  • Prepare basis of design report for the project 
  • Prepare and document project energy compliance to applicable energy codes 
  • Select and prepare specifications for electrical equipment
  • Coordinate work with engineers of other disciplines (mechanical, life safety, etc.) and with project architects 
  • Maintain confidentiality with clients and projects.

This is a hybrid position (2 days/week in office) based in Orlando, FL. No immigration sponsorship is available for this position.

Here's what you'll need

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) 
  • Professional Engineer license (PE)
  • 8+ years of Electrical Engineering experience, which could include the following:
    • Experience working for a MEP firm required focusing on Mission Critical applications, experience designing medium-voltage distribution systems and emergency generation.
    • Experience with project deliverables such as design reports, drawings and specifications for power distribution applications, including calculation of available short circuit current, voltage drop, load calculations, power factor, equipment, conduit, conductor sizing, electrical plans, schematics and schedules.
  • Required Code and Standard Knowledge: NEC, IES, NFPA 70E, IEEE Color Book Series.
  • Required Software Capabilities: Revit, AutoCAD, SKM or ETAP, Computer Based Lighting Software.

Ideally, you'll also have

  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering.

  • LEED Accredited Professional and previous experience participating in the LEED or other green rating system process.
  • Experience working on data center, power, UPS systems, and generator systems.

102,900.00

Posted Salary Range: Upper

141,500.00

The base salary range for this position is $102,900.00 to $141,500.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
